Ginny Hudson is senior instructor for the Department of Music and Theatre at the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith, a position in which she has overseen the recruitment and education of aspiring musicians for the past 14 years.
A native Arkansan, Ginny Hudson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music magna cum laude from Arkansas Tech University and her Master’s of Music in Flute Performance from the Longy School of Music. Her primary teachers were Karen Futterer and Robert Willoughby. Hudson is an active performer in the region. As a member of the Mockingbird Quartet, she has been featured in the Mary McDonald concert series and with the Little Rock Wind Symphony. The quartet performs recitals regularly across the region and sponsors clinics for high school flutists to expand opportunities for young musicians in Arkansas. As an orchestral flutist, she performs regularly with the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SONA). She has also played with the Fort Smith Symphony, the Lowell House Orchestra, and the Muses Project. Hudson is a five time winner of the National Flute Association Professional Flute choir competition. In 2019, she was featured as a solo performer at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Convention. She maintains a large private studio in Northwest Arkansas.
